Extreme Weather Information
When there is snow, you will see orange cones in the road in front of the school. We use these to designate a space between the curb and your car for the teachers to walk in as they bring your children out. Please drive up next to the cones and maintain the space as indicated. Thank you!
When Mount Horeb Public Schools are closed due to extreme weather, Children’s Community School will also be closed. Check the Mount Horeb Area School District website or Facebook page, or local media, for closing information. Please be prepared with an alternative childcare plan.
- When public schools are delayed two hours, CCS will open at 9:30 a.m. There will be no early morning (7:30am) drop-off on days that have a delayed start time. There will be no bussing available for 4K children if there is a 2 hour delay, but 4K children are welcome to attend their respective classes.
- If public schools close early, CCS will close early. Please try to arrive to pick up your child(ren) before the public school closing time. For example, if public schools close at 2 p.m., please pick up your child(ren) before 2 p.m. Unexpected schedule changes can be difficult for young children; rest assured we will keep your child(ren) safe and calm until your arrival.
If Mount Horeb Public Schools are closed on a regularly scheduled school day for a reason other than health or safety, Children’s Community School will be open.
